Mollie Belle Sealock
Mollie Belle was the blond, blue-eyed girl that Fanny had dreamed of having. Apparently, she was mild mannered and gentle. Some of her sayings remain
oft-repeated statements to this day.
After falling down some wooden cellar steps at age five, her leg became severely infected. Visits to doctors, various remedies, and special treatments were a part of her life for the next few years. She had developed osteomeylitis. Surgeries, hospital stays, and various casts ensued. The nurses at Children's Hospital, Oklahoma City, called her "Little Sunshine." She seemed to possess a sweet spirit even in the face of pain and continued illness. One hospital stay was more than a year long. Her homecoming was a special event at Stanley and Fanny's house.
Her life was cut short by the disease entering her spine--ultimately being called spinal meningitis. She died just before her 12th birthday. A special part of the Jarvis School Christmas program that year was in her honor. She had been greatly loved and admired.
