Daniel Moore Sealock

The early years of "Grandpa Dan's" life are virtually unknown. We were told that he was a strict father and a very hard worker. However, he is remembered by most of us as fun-loving, kind, and gentle. He enjoyed good times and shared many wonderful stories with his grandchildren.

He had been a farmer and laborer at Shawnee Milling Company. He was happiest driving his Model-A Ford. It was said that he never took the same road to any place, if he could find a new one to drive. His love of going places was legendary. Everything was interesting to him.

He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shawnee.

He called Flora Annah "Mommie" all through their life together--and he depended on her. An oft repeated story tells about someone doing repairs at their little 3 room house near Earlsboro. A nail was needed and his remark was, "Come on Mommie, let's go hunt a nail."

He loved playing games, especially Rook and dominoes. During his eighty-four plus years, he made a host of friends, and left a legacy of love and joy for all his family.
