Oscar Newton "Bob" Wingo

Bob's active mind and exuberant nature was aptly characterized by the fun-loving and talented children he raised. He was quick-witted and fun, but could be a stern disciplinarian when needed. His boys knew just how far they could go into mischief before raising his ire. To say that Eleanor was his "little doll" was not to indicate that she always got favored treatment.

He was an excellent carpenter and shared that knowledge and expertise with more than one family member. He willingly taught his brother-in-law, Stanley, the carpentry trade.

As he grew older, he welcomed many Okies to his California home--giving them side trips to Old Mexico and other places near Southern California.
