Carl Israel Sealock

Born the eldest of seven, Carl became a young worker to help support the family. Being expected to work in the fields as siblings continued to arrive must have seemed like a burden to young Carl. Leaving home during his teens, he would never return to Oklahoma to live.

After a stint in the navy, he found his technical training was much in demand. He became a first-rate mechanic, and ultimately was foreman of the mechanical department of a large trucking company--a position he held until retirement.

He lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin all those years until his death at age 94. Even though he'd become a true "northener" he never forgot his parents or extended family. Even though he apparently left home vowing that he would never work on a farm, Dan and Anna were very proud of his later accomplishments. Yearly, until his health declined, he brought his own family to Oklahoma for vacation in summer. Family reunions and other gatherings were planned around his annual visits.

A big man; much taller than Stanley or the girls, he seemed to have a big heart to go with his stature.
